Makenna Driscoll-Piatt

Ceramics

CAA instructor

Makenna Driscoll-Piatt is a Newton-based hobby potter who started pottery on a whim. Having always wished she had taken ceramics in high school, she saw an ad for a class through the Centre for Arts and Artists and decided to get herself a birthday present. The class was amazing, so she signed up for another. After several weekends of bugging her teacher for wheel time, she was then convinced to join the Centre as an artist. 2.5 years later, and we’re here!

Makenna has no formal arts training. She took 1 semester of drawing her senior year, and got an A-. She went to beauty school in Las Vegas, NV, but that didn’t work out. Now, she’s an IT Support Specialist by trade.

Makenna loves to mix beauty and function. She also loves to experiment. No two pieces will ever be alike, and she firmly believes that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
